Ice Road Trucker's kind of day

Today was a great day in my life.  I got to meet a great man Alex who appears on a show on History Channel called Ice Road Truckers.  My family and I have been watching the show since the beginning and love Alex, because he is so down to earth.  His laugh is something that makes you feel at ease and the world is a good place to be.  Today I heard that laugh and his Canadian accent with my own ears in real life and it was amazing.  Alex took the time to get pictures with his fans, sign autographs and laugh and make jokes.  Meeting someone who is a Veteran trucker from the Ice Roads is a blessing to meet.  When in my life will I ever get the chance to meet such an amazing human?  Probably not for awhile if ever.  I got my step dad's Season 1 box set signed today by Alex, which made me cry, yep like a big baby, I couldn't help it at all because I was so happy to be doing something that my step dad would love to do.  Mom said he was so excited that I got that for him and I am glad to bring some happiness to him during this time of pain and hardship.  My step dad is a veteran trucker as well and from Canada so him and Alex have a lot in common.  I also got my picture taken with Alex which was awesome.  He also signed my picture I bought and signed stuff for my daughters.  He was so nice and so lovely in his Alex kind of way.  If you ever get a chance to meet this wonderful man I suggest you do it.  Even though I cried in front of a crowd of people I had my reasons to do so, it was a cry of happiness and a cry of sadness as I wished my step dad could of meet Alex in person.  But I am glad I was able to do it for him.  I heard people say "Awww she is crying" but in reality they had no idea why I was crying, and I cried most of the way home, I know, I know...big baby.

But my day was great...it was an Ice Road Trucker's kind of day even though it was pretty warm and sunny...
